Fresh from Comedy Central, comedian and author Njambi McGrath is back with her critically acclaimed
Edinburgh fringe show Benevolence, an hour of hilarity musing over all
things giving.
It seems there’s a new scramble for Africa. Poverty porn, white saviors, kids on a gap year, missionaries, volunteers, IMF, World Bank, International development, Foreign Aid and 3,000 charities, sounds like one hell of a rave. What’s it about?
In this hour Njambi explores the concept of giving. Why do people give?
Their motivation. Some give because they are sympathetic, others give
for the tax relief, whilst others seek to launder their tainted image.
Maybe some can’t be bothered to go to the tip.
"A searingly honest and uncompromising anti-colonial stand-up show" The Scotsman
"Njambi's style of comedy is hard hitting, but dealt out in such a gentle, well crafted way that you are left thoughtful, but also with jaw ache from laughing so much" Edinburgh Reviewer
